Christian Greetings To You All!
A
Source That Will Never Dry Up!
“It is of
the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions
fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”
Do you know what Lamentations 3:22-23 means? It means that
God never runs out of compassion. Have you ever gone to Niagara
Falls and watched the water rampaging with torrential force?
I’ve thought! “Surely the water is one day going to dry up.”
But it hasn’t. Dear friend, greater than Niagara is the compassion
of the Lord, His compassions fail not and keep flowing to
us in a never ending stream. In 1923, Thomas O. Chisholm wrote
one of the greatest hymns of all time and this stanza is the
refrain of this truth, “Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my
Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest
not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou
forever will be.” God is faithful. Whatever we face today
dear friend, lean upon Him and His faithfulness, He will never,
no never, leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). We read
this recently and were greatly challenged about our own life
of faithful service for the Master.
The thought
struck us very forcibly, are we prepared for what sanctification
will do? It will cost an intense narrowing of all our
interests on earth and an immense broadening of our interest
in God. However we may set out on the path of pilgrimage,
we spend a lifetime walking it. There are no rest stops, no
plateaus at which we can flop down and say that we've gone
far enough. At the beginning, God accepts us in all of our
sinfulness and selfishness, but this does not mean that he
is content to have us remain in that state. We are all, in
the New Testament's terrifying phrase, "called to be
saints." Our Father knows our weaknesses even better
than we do and he does not expect us to become saints overnight,
He does however demand that we keep moving in that direction,
or as the good old Methodist phrase puts it, that we continue
"groaning toward perfection" not whether we are
a little farther along than some of our friends and neighbours,
but how far we have progressed since yesterday. How does my
faithfulness measure up?
Question! Is
that what we are doing? Throughout our years of involvement
with Treasured Truth Today Ministries we find our selves from
time to time taking an introspective look at what we are about
and endeavor to determine if we are still on the course we
believe the Lord in the first place called us to, we are thankful
to say with assurance, yes we believe we are. For us it is
a joy to continue preaching the whole counsel of God throughout
Ireland and the United Kingdom wherever and whenever the call
comes, “come over and help us”. We consider it a real blessing
to proclaim the precious truths of God’s Wonderful Word to
those who willingly attend our meetings. It is also most certainly
a thrill to be in a position of helping some of our friends
in Eastern Europe, especially in Romania, with all the aid
and help you our dear friends have entrusted us with, what
and encouragement you have been over the year now gone into
eternity, without you we absolutely could not continue our
calling for the Lord. May we take a moment here to mention
our very precious American friends who have from the inception
of our ministry been avid supporters of Treasured Truth Today
Ministries, we heartily and sincerely thank them and those
of you from Northern Ireland and United Kingdom for taking
such an interest in us, your sacrificial giving has been a
great encouragement to us and a blessing to the friends who
receive it from us in your name.
We continue
to provide help in the purchase of Bibles, books, computers,
soft-ware, seminary fees and even this past year have been
able to give some help for the refurbishing a little Baptist
Church some miles from Biai Mare, Romania. We are deeply indebted
to our dear friends in Carrickfergus Congregational Church
who for the past few years have supplied shoe boxes for the
children in Romania and have been so generous to do the same
again this year, these certainly delight the children in several
churches in Romania who seem to just love receiving these
wonderful gifts.
Also
over the years some of our dear friends from different
parts of the country have supplied clothes, shoes, blankets
and other items which we have delivered to our dear friends
in Romania. This time we have already a large number of boxes
filled to the brim with all sorts of goodies reaching their
destination before Christmas 2011. So please understand we
praise God daily for you all and pray our great God will reward
you accordingly.
When people
ask us why we keep on doing what we are doing as a ministry
we often quote something that startled us greatly. Reading
recently George Barna’s survey of the Biblical
World View among Young People! In 1995, George Barna surveyed
teens and found that only 10% had a biblical worldview. By
2002 that number had declined to only 4%. From his studies
he defined biblical worldview as agreeing with the very basic
beliefs of Christianity. Almost a decade later, he finds that
among 18-24 year olds less than ˝ of 1% have a biblical worldview. Adults didn’t do much better with only 9%
holding a biblical worldview. That’s why we are focusing our
efforts on shaping the worldview of our lovely friends in
Eastern Europe and in our own country as we endeavour to present
to all the scriptural and spiritual view which we believe
to be God’s view. By
doing this, we are focusing on the disease instead of the
symptoms. How you deal with every other issue finances, politics,
education, social issues, etc. is determined by your worldview.
By reshaping the worldview of individuals scripturally and
spiritually we can reshape the culture of a nation.
We
are so deeply thankful for all who stand with us. God bless
you as you labour through Treasured Truth Today Ministries,
your love and friendship is so deeply appreciated.
Until Jesus
Comes

This Year
we have again decided not to publish our diary for the next
six months, deciding to do so this last two years has been
a great success. Some of you have been hesitant to contact
us thinking every date was booked, let me assure you we still
have some Sunday’s and mid-week evenings free, do contact
us, please remember from time to time we have cancelations,
if we can help in any way it will be an absolute delight to
hear from you wherever you are. 2011 has been a very full
year for preaching engagements, may we say a sincere thank
you to all who have booked us and allowed us the privilege
of visiting your services, we truly desire to be your servants
for Christ’s sake.
