Personal News Letter No. 10. July 2008

To all those who stand with us for Christ’s sake.

A friend, visiting a lighthouse, said to the keeper, “Are you not afraid to live here? Surely it is rather a dangerous place to be living constantly.” “No,” replied the keeper, “I am not afraid; you see we never think much about ourselves here.” “Never think about your selves, how is that?” The reply is worth noting!

“We know that we are perfectly safe here, our only thought is to have our lamps burning brightly, and the reflectors clean, so that those sailors on the sea, so exposed to danger, may be safe.”

Dear Christian, we are as safe as God can make us in a house build on the rock that is Christ, which cannot be moved by the wildest storm; therefore in a spirit of holy unselfishness, we should let our light flash across the large ocean of this dark world and rise and fall on the waves of sin, that they, who are in deadly eternal peril, may be led safely into the harbour of God’s Wonderful Salvation.

This of course is what gives Isa and me the continued desire to be doing what we believe the Lord has called us to do. Instead of retiring to a life of ease we have a passion to reach out into the darkness and shine the glorious light of God. Please be assured we are deeply indebted to many of you dear friends who stand with us in this ongoing hunger for souls. We have had that precious privilege over this past six month of letting the light of “The Gospel” and the message of “The Soon Coming of Christ” shine through Treasured Truth Today Ministries. It has been our privilege to have preached ever Sunday but one and a great many mid-week meetings since the beginning of the year both in Northern Ireland and Romania.

It seemed the doors open to us, certainly for the first six months of this year, were mainly in home territory and what a blessing it was to be with so many of you and indeed to renew fellowship with dear friends once again, thank you for receiving us so graciously, please be assured we do so appreciate your sacrificial giving, thoughtfulness and kindness towards us.

It was also our great joy to spend some time during March in Romania to preach a Gospel Campaign in Hope Baptist Church, Dragesti, just outside Oradea, this is one of the two churches my very dear friend Gratian Bochis Pastors. What a time of blessing we had with those dear friends, Gratian, his dear wife Carmen and their delightful baby daughter Julia, we were welcomed as the dearest of friends; it was a most encouraging experience.

I also had the privilege of preaching one Sunday of my visit to Romania in Bethany Baptist Church, St. Andrew, again just outside Oradea where my beloved friend and brother Dr. Cornel Ivoa’s ministry is being richly blessed of God, there, we were able to meet with one of the students we as a ministry endeavour to help in a small way, Daniel interpreted for me during the service which was just wonderful and allowed me to fully enter into the time of worship, prayer and praise with all the dear friends attending.

A Consignment of Bibles, books, study materials, computer software and aid to purchase computers has recently been dispatched to some of those we endeavour to help in Romania, at present we have in our spare room a quantity of books, study material for students, young pastors and trainee missionaries also a collection of new clothes, puzzles and games for children waiting to be delivered, sincere thanks indeed to all of you who have been so kind to donate these items, they are gratefully received and will be a blessing to our friends in Eastern Europe.

We do ask for your ongoing help at the throne of grace, as you will see by our List of Engagements from July to December we have a verily busy six months ahead God willing, we are so aware we cannot continue to do what we do for the Master without your prayerful interest and an anointing from the Lord.
