An Extreme Make-Over is Underway!
“Moreover, whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.” Romans 8:30. Dr. Scofield, says that “predestination is the effective exercise of the will of God by which things determined by Him are brought to pass”. God’s wisdom is sovereign but what did God predestinate? That those whom God foreknew will be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, who is the Firstborn. God had one Son and He said, “I want more just like Him”. And so, God is redeeming a people, so that all these people might be conformed to the image of God’s Son. If you are saved, you are predestined to be like Jesus. When God foreknew that you would receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then He said, “It is settled. You will one day be like My Son”. Thank God for what He has done and will do; shaping you into the image of Jesus Christ.
Available to the will of God!
For Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother and my sister and mother. Mark3:35. Major Ian Thomas asked: “Which of these things in the life of Jesus is more spiritual? When Jesus preached the sermon on the mount, or when He raised Lazarus from the dead, or when He washed His disciples’ feet, or when he made clay to anoint the blind man’s eyes?” The answer is none was more spiritual than the others. He was simply available to do whatever His Father willed. The Will of God is not a road map, it is at its heart a relationship! You simply set yourself apart to do the will of God. Are you separating your life into activities which you believe are more spiritual than others? Surrender all you have to Him and make yourself wholly available for whatever He calls you to do today.
Burning Brightly For The Glory Of God!
“And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush.” Exodus 3:2. Major Ian Thomas has imagined what Moses might have said when he encountered God in the burning bush, “Would you look at that bush? It just keeps on burning for God. I wish my life could burn for God like that and keep on burning”. Then Major Thomas imagined God replying, “Moses, you think this bush is so wonderful? Do you see that bush over there? I could do the same thing with it. Moses, it’s not the bush—it’s God in the bush. It’s not you, it’s not me!” We are only the vessels of God’s anointing. Surrender to Him to day and as you do, He will fill you and use you for His glory. Allow His flame to burn brightly for all to see.
Since the commencement of Treasured Truth Today Ministries at the beginning of January 2004 this dear friends has been our aim and object, that through this ministry we would see God at work especially with our young friends in Romania. Some time ago we aided in the purchase of land in the Village of Cavnic, Romania. Our deepest desire was to get permission to build a property, with sleeping quarters, kitchen, rooms for teaching the Word of God. Inviting young people to come and stay with us for one or two weeks so that we could train them for further study of God's Wonderful Word. To equip them for serving the Lord in a way to which they felt the call of God. However, to date the authorities have refused to give permission, we have therefore had to hire Canvas, would you please pray with us that such would be granted as this would be a great asset for our future plans in that very needy land.
Again, we are thankful to be able to say the year past has been an amazing year in the work in the land of Romania. The village churches in which we have a passion to encourage growth and see blessing through salvation, baptism and membership amongst those dear people continually report growth in so many ways. Our shipment of cloths, footwear, blankets, and many other things for all ages has for the first time been kept up throughout the whole year. We say the deepest and most sincere thanks to so many friends and churches for all of their hard work and continual gift's not only of goods but also your financial gifts enabling this ministry through the whole year. Truly you have been such an encouragement and a blessing we are so thankful for you one and all. May the Lord reward you everyone richly for your faithfulness.
Anticipation of an Even Greater Day!
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3. Think about this, It’s the day after Christmas. The glow on the tree is just a little dimmer because the anticipation of the day is now past. Ever feel that way about your walk with the Lord? Well, let me give you some good news, my friend. The best is yet to be! That’s right. Christmas Day is past, but Resurrection Day is coming soon, and I don’t mean Easter. I mean the Second Coming of Our Lord is imminently on the horizon. He is coming again. And that’s not just a nice thing; that’s an indisputable truth! Jesus is coming again! Write down the words of John 14:3: on a little note, and as you say goodbye to family and friends, give them this note of encouragement.
Are you called to follow the Lord?
Elizabeth Elliot (Jim Elliot’s Wife) in addressing the matter of how to know if one is being called to follow the Lord. Sometimes I am asked to speak to young people who are toying with the idea of being missionaries. They want to know how I discovered the will of God. So, I simply tell them, the first thing was to settle once and for all the supremacy of Christ in my life. I put myself utterly and forever at His disposal, which means turning over all the rights: to myself, my body, my self-image, and my notions of how I am to serve my Master. Oswald Chambers calls it "breaking the husk of my individual independence of God”. Until that break comes, all the rest is "pious fraud”. I tell these earnest kids that the will of God is always different from what they expect, always bigger, and ultimately infinitely more glorious than their wildest imaginings. But there will be deaths to die. Paul found that out—daily. That is the price of following the way of the cross--of course. If our object is to see people saved, we must be clear that we cannot save people ourselves, Jonah discovered that “Salvation belongs to the Lord”. This can scare people. Yet what is there to fear when Christ holds first place in our lives? Where, other than in the will of the Father, shall we expect to find significance, security, and serenity?
Many of you prayed for Isa as she waited for her hip replacement, we are pleased to report the operation was completed in September and was a great success. Thank you for standing with us in prayer.
