To all our encouraging friends!
Through this past year we have wonderfully found many who are great encouragers, that is they are always wanting to stand with you through all times and situations, wanting to display their love for the Lord and share the blessing of that love with you and bless your very soul.
C. H. Spurgeon once wrote: "Aspire to be something more than the mass of church members. Lift up your cry to God and beseech him to fire you with a nobler ambition than that which possesses the common Christian—that you may be found faithful unto God at the last, and may win many crowns for your Lord and Master, Christ."
Sadly, but alas in these last days, not surprisingly sometimes we are chided for preaching the Prophetic Truth of the Lord’s Return. Now, one would hope that the truth of the Lord’s return would galvanize the Church, it would lift men, women and young people’s hearts as they realize this present world and all that it offers is but a wisp of smoke in God’s Eternity. You would hope that knowing God has promised to return to take his Church home to be with him for all eternity would encourage all Christians everywhere. But alas, that is not the case, yet if as we fulfill the calling placed on our lives some 14 years ago, if that is our burden to bear, then we bear it gladly; why? because "the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy" Rev: 19v10:
Richard Wurmbrand recalls: "It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners, as it is in captive nations today. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their terms. It was a deal: we preached, and they beat us. We were happy preaching; they were happy beating us - so everyone was happy."
Now we do not receive physical beatings as Richard Wurmbrand did, but nonetheless we all need encouraged. Someone has well said that discouragement is a darkroom where the negatives of fear and failure are developed. Some people are encouragers and others are discouragers. Have you ever met a discourager? They’re like a drink of water to a drowning man. They can brighten up a room by leaving it. They leave you drained and depressed. But an encourager leaves you full and refreshed. God has cornered the market on encouragement. All encouragement comes from God. You’re never more like God than when you’re encouraging people and never more like the devil than when you are discouraging people. Find a needy person and enrich them; a lonely person and include them; a misunderstood person and affirm them; an undiscovered person and develop them; a failing person and restore them.
So, as we once again we come to years end we do take stock in a very serious manner as to what our aims and goals are for Treasured Truth Today Ministries, are those aims and goals still on course as we set them out over fourteen years ago, without doubt we believe we can say a resounding yes. “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:1. Be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your faith.
So, our work with our dear friends in Romania continues, over these past weeks we have been packing boxes with clothing, foot-ware, blankets, medical supplies, handbags filled with toiletries for ladies, sportswear for the young, and shipping full boxes for the churches we are involved with. This allows our friends in Romania to invite to their churches those who have a mind to accept the invitation, give a light lunch, have a service, preaching the Word of God and distributing all that is revealed in the box opening, We are still willing to help with the purchase of Bibles, books, computers, software, seminary fees for those who request such, also shoe boxes for the children at Christmas which believe me is a real highlight of the year.
My dear friend Pastor Nick has had the privilege planting a new church in Baia Mare on the 21st October 2018, what a blessing that was. I had been invited to be there for the opening but was unable to do so as Isa is awaiting a hip replacement operation at present. On the day of the opening they were wondering how many would turn up, the planned seating arrangement was 250 seats actually over five hundred came to the service, what a wonderful encouragement, may the hand of the Lord remain good on that new work for the Lord.
Please also remember the land purchased in Cavnic Village some time ago in the hope of eventually building dormitories' , in which to bring young people for training to serve the Lord, there have been some delays due to planning permission and some other problems. We do value your prayers dear friends for all of the work of God in that part of Romania. Remember we have an Inheritance That Will Never Fade away! “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:4:
My brothers and sisters we are thankful to the Lord for the openings given at home, Romania and further afield to spread the message of the Gospel. Grateful thank also to you one and all hear at home, in other places and our dear friends in the United States of America for your prayerful and practical support.
