Blessings upon and greetings to all of our faithful friends!
“My times are in Thy hand.” Psalm 31:15. 86,400 Seconds Each Day
God’s greatest gift to us is Jesus. His second greatest gift is time. Every second we have life as a gift from God. It strikes me often, for me to cease living, God would not have to take my life, all God would have to do is stop giving me life. My times are in His hands, we are stewards of the time He has given us, we have 86,400 seconds in the day no more, no less, the difference is stewardship. Today is check-up day, how am I redeeming my 86,400 seconds each day to the glory of God?
Recently a number of dear friends have been asking "Why is Bible Prophecy So Important to you"? “perhaps if you dropped that subject you would have many more supporters for your ministry as so many do not like to get involved in such a subject because it can be confusing and not easily understood”. I was Saved at sixteen, I began reading the Word of God in Genesis 2v7 I read, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Hebrew: An Eternal Soul) Suddenly I thought, I have a future with God, an earthly future however long or short that may be and I have an eternal future which will be forever. From that moment onwards I became interested in the future!
Bible Prophecy can be challenging to some as they struggle to understand God’s revelation through prophetic teaching, to them it seems dark and unclear. A favorite quote from Corrie Ten Boom. "When a train goes through the tunnel and it gets very dark, you don't throw away the ticket and jump off, you sit still and trust the engineer to lead you out into the light". Matt: 25v13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day or the hour when the Son of Man cometh." I do love the light of God's wonderful Word!
Later, I was reading in the book of Ephesians, I came to Ch. 5 and was deeply struck by v18 "Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit" My heart and mind became enthused with the fact that the Lord wanted my life to be under the control of the Holy Spirit. v1-18: Pastor Willie Mullan wrote of this passage:
My Tongue to be under the control of the Spirit v 1-5:
My Throng to be under the control of the Spirit v 6-7:
My Testimony to be under the control of the Spirit v 8-14:
My Threading to be under the control of the Spirit v 15:
My Time to be under the control of the Spirit v 16:
My Thoughts to be under the control of the Spirit v 17:
My Tastes to be under the control of the Spirit v 18:
It struck me, the Lord did not want me to be like the man who went to see the doctor about his poor sleeping habits: OK said the doctor, sit down and tell me all about it! Well doctor, it's like this, I go to bed every night religiously at 9pm, I sleep soundly until 9am in the morning. Get up, have my breakfast, go for a walk, bring back the paper, have a read, put my head back on the settee and sleep until lunch time. Waken about 1pm Have a sandwich, lie down again and sleep until Tea time, enjoy my tea but doctor it's that period from tea time until I go to bed at 9pm I have problems can you help me sleep better? A humorous story but you see dear friends I don't want simply to close my eyes and let the world drift by, I have an interest in my earthly future because I am going to spend some time there preparing for my Eternal future.
It is my prayer that my eternal future begins with those words recorded in Matthew 25v3: "well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord"!
The Apostle Paul's words to young Timothy in 2 Timothy 3v16 speak to me daily in my ongoing study of scripture "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." I felt it was incumbent upon me to read and study all of God's wonderful word however difficult it would be because I needed to understand the whole counsel of God.
Now for us to do that we must first know what the bible teaches about the future. We are responsible for the known, that is what we now know. We are also responsible for the knowable, that is what we should know by reading, meditating and studying the precious Word of God. I hear so many people say today, Oh! I don't bother with prophecy because its controversial, it causes descent and may bring disagreement.
Bible Seminaries tell us that Bible knowledge is at an all time low, there is a sweeping lack of understanding out there especially with respect to eschatological truth amongst those who attend church regularly. Over many years of ministry, I have noted a change in the appetite of the various church denominations in which I preach for Bible Prophecy. As a Pastor of 3 Baptist Churches I had the privilege of centering my ministry on Biblical Prophecy, building the church up looking for the glorious day of our rapture. Living accordingly in preparation for that day as instructed by Holy Scripture. You see dear believer, studying Bible Prophecy is a powerful antidote to a lack of understanding. Because it paints the picture clearly, it puts the pieces together and reveals the most beautiful portrait of God's plan and purpose for Israel, the Church, the world at large and eternity.
Some say we are what we eat, if we eat poorly our diet is reflected in our health. It is the same for spiritual health, unless we feast on the whole counsel of God! Paul said "For I have not shunned to Declare unto you all the counsel of God" (Acts 20v27). (1 Peter 3v1). The Time Is Short! The Need Is Great! The Message Is Urgent!
Our calling in this world is to know God and share his message to a lost world: Dr. Adrian Rogers asked the question! What Is the World’s Problem?
The world wants to know what we should do about the problems of the world. What about the overcrowded prisons? Poverty? Rape? Murder? The horrible evil and wickedness of our day? Do you know why we never solve the problems? Because we don’t see the real problem. The sociologist says it is just a cultural lag. The psychologist calls it an emotional disturbance. The philosopher calls it irrational behaviour. The communist calls it the human class struggle. The humanist calls it human weakness. The criminologist calls it anti-human conduct. The Bible calls it sin. And the only answer for sin is Jesus. He who fulfils the will of God, expresses the love of God, and expounds the mind of God and reminds us He is coming soon.
Dr Vance Havner speaking of the words of a young man interviewed by the Chairman of the Missions Board as to the reason for his calling simply replied: “Jesus!” He believed the words of Jesus in John 14v2. "If it were not so I would have told you" That settled it for him.
My beloved brothers and sisters that's what keeps us in Treasured Truth Today Ministries doing what we began to do officially on 1st January 2004 and continue doing until this present time, we sensed the voice of Jesus say through His Precious Word, "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my father honour" (John 12v26).
My brothers and sisters we are thankful to the Lord for the openings given at home and in Romania to spread the message of the Gospel, surely we must in these dark days use every opportunity to speak the truth in love as doors are opened to us, thank you for standing with us! As we enter this New Year 2018 God willing, we do so looking forward to hearing from you; we would absolutely love to accept an invitation to come and minister, teach Bible Studies or preach the gospel. If we can help in any way it will be a delight to hear from you wherever you are; we are your servants for Christ sake!
Until Jesus Comes
